Worm Gear Sets Description
SE single axis slewing drive is a critical component in both single axis solar tracking system and dual axis solar tracking system. Besides, with its perfect and high backlash, it can also applied in CSP and CPV system, wind energy, antenna which need higher backlash.
What is Single Axis Solar Trackers
A single-axis tracker orients PV modules along one axis of rotation, moving horizontally from east to west as the sun moves. Moving these PV modules requires the reducer offer both load-holding and rotational torque – something only a highly specialized slewing drive can offer. Trackers applied slewing drives technologied with hourglass worm can engage a greater number of teeth on the pitch line of the gear ring, offer the maximum amount of strength, durability and performance. This ensures the tracker has the longest possible field life with the least amount of downtime or maintenance cost.

Applications
There are four kinds of solar photovoltaic automatic tracking systems that are widely used, including horizontal single-axis tracking, double-column inclined single-axis tracking, vertical single-axis tracking and dual-axis tracking, among which horizontal single-axis tracking and inclined single-axis tracking, vertical single-axis tracking only One rotational degree of freedom, and dual-axis tracking has two rotational degrees of freedom.
The tracking control strategy adopted by the three tracking systems is an active tracking control strategy, which calculates the position of the sun in the sky and controls the orientation of the photovoltaic array.
